As the next iteration of the WFX Prime, the first FIVE glove featuring heat-sealed seamless construction on the topside so it’s totally waterproof, the WFX Prime Evo GTX takes protection from the cold a step further by using FIVE THERMO+™ construction, an innovative concept in thermal insulation.
Most winter gloves have been made in the same way for ages…To put it simply, with thick, dense thermal insulation on the topside of the hand and a thinner layer on the palm, all the way up to between the fingers. And this is the weak point of this traditional type of construction. The cold ends up getting in through the fourchettes (this is what the zone between the fingers is called). FIVE has redesigned the basic principles of thermal insulation by using a new method of construction we call THERMO+™, which offers up to 20% greater thermal efficiency.
