After his great performance in Qatar one week ago, Dylan Ferrandis was expecting another good weekend in Thailand, home of the second Grand Prix of the season. Fastest rider during the timed practice period, Dylan was advancing from a moderate start during the qualifying race when he got out of shape in the waves section and dislocated his right shoulder. The track medical officer put the shoulder back into place whilst the race continued and after some treatment by the local medical service Dylan took the decision to fly back to France for further investigations by his specialist in Lyon.
Dylan Ferrandis: “I was pretty confident after my pole position in the timed practice session, but my start in the qualifying race was not so good; I was fifth and didn’t want to take any risks, but my rear wheel slid out in the waves and I crashed on my right shoulder. It was not really painful, and the medical staff put it back in position after twenty minutes. Now I fly back home to visit my doctor as soon as possible, we need more examinations to know what we have to do and when I can be back on the bike.”
