Because, as a true custom enthusiast, you can enjoy taking your machine out in the cold season as soon as conditions allow, i.e. at the slightest ray of sunshine (it's a lot nicer...), it's best to bring the right equipment.

FIVE has thought of all those who want to ride and protect themselves from the cold in style aboard a motorcycle with character, and has taken its inspiration from the flight jackets of the 1930s, when aviators needed warm, hard-wearing clothing to stay in the icy cockpit for hours on end. The Montana will appeal first and foremost for the quality and suppleness of its durable full-grain cowhide leather, specially selected and coated for a truly authentic look, covering the top of the hand as well as the palm.

But what's even more impressive is the feeling of warmth and comfort you get when wearing it, thanks to the synthetic "sheep's wool-type" fur around the wrist and the inner fleece lining that covers the hand right down to the fingertips. There are two ways to wear Montana: rolled-up or unfolded. The rolled-up position, highlighting the "sheep's wool-type" lining, is secured by two snap fasteners. And simply unfold the cuff so that it covers or fits under the jacket, as you please... or in case of unexpected rain.

The Montana is not equipped with a waterproof membrane (it's not its vocation), but the robust waxed leather will, more often than not, suffice to protect you from a brief, light rain, in the same way as an authentic aviator jacket. A great deal of attention has been paid to the deliberately vintage aesthetic of this model, as evidenced by the embossed pattern adorning the wide nubuck palm reinforcement, synonymous with durability and enhanced protection in the event of contact with the ground.

The top of the hand is not left out: the small gusset at wrist level and the three imposing topstitching accentuate its character. And when it comes to safety, the wrist closure will keep the glove securely in place in the event of a fall. Whether you feel like Charles Lindbergh when he first crossed the Atlantic in his plane, the Spirit of St Louis, or you're simply a custom enthusiast who likes to cruise "à la fraîche", you're sure to appreciate the Montana.
